Why would number 3 cyclinder misfire on a 93 Honda Accord lx 2.2 after changing the timing belt?

Did you turn the crankshaft, or camshaft with the belt off? You could possibly have bent a valve. Do a compression test to verify.

It is possible that a wire or spark plug was damaged. Change # 2 wire with # 3 (at distributor and plug) then swap plugs and see if miss %26quot;moves.%26quot; Look also for vacuum lines cracked or loose.

Did you have the spark plug wires off? Sometimes when you move an old set of wire they will break down and start arcing to ground. Meaning the spark energy is not going to the plug, it is jumping to a ground point on the engine. Maybe the spark plug is damaged from the same operation? It may just be the spark plug wire is not inserted all the way into the connection. There is a problem with some V8 engines, I think is was a Ford, that when you arrange the wires wrongly in the wire looms, they miss-fire because of close contact arcing from one wire to another. I have never heard of this on the in-line Honda's, but take a look at the wires. Good Luck!
