Changing Timing Belt on 98 CR-V B20B4 motor?

I'm trying to change the timing belt. Questions: When looking at the engine from the crank pulley side, which way does the engine turn? I am having all kinds of difficulty removing the crank pulley bolt. I've used a cheater bar, and broke my socket extension instead. Bought a 220lbs-ft impact wrench, and the bolt is not breakig lose at all. The cylinder head is currently off, so I don't think i should use engine torque to losen the bold, as I'm not even sure which way the motor turns. Help, please!!! Thank you in advance!!!

Most motors turn clockwise, except where that shop owner works. 15 years at Honda and surprise, the front pulley bolt still comes off by turning it to the left.

OK two words reverse threaded. If the head is off you couldn't use the compression anyway.

Doesn't the manual tell you it is reverse threaded. silly jap car manual

So it is not a lefty loosey righty tighty

it is a righty loosey, lefty tighty.
the motor turns clock wise and as far as the bolt goes try to locate a belt wrench good luck
